In a testament to the resilience of the national economy, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) revealed a rise in the net foreign assets (NFAs) of the banking sector, reaching USD 31.2 billion in August 2026, marking the highest level recorded since January 2020.
The released data cited the following breakdown:
• Net Foreign Assets of Commercial Banks rose to USD 12.4 billion in August 2026.
• Net Foreign Assets of the Central Bank of Egypt mounted to USD 18.8 billion in August 2026.
